–The Butler girls Track & Field team won their second consecutive Triple-A WPIAL championship Monday at Baldwin high school. The Golden Tornado girls dominated the event, topping Hempfield 91-59, Norwin 95-55 and North Allegheny 99-51. Liz Simms won the 800-meter run and Autumn Pettinato won the javelin. Butler also swept all three relays. The Golden Tornado had a perfect 13-0 “dual meet” season, capped by the championship.
(The Girls won all three relays – the 4×800 team of Chesna Tomko, Erin LeMay, Liz Simms and Maggie Welty started the meet with a dominating win. The 4×100 team of Chesna Tomko, Gabby Boden, Maddie Tonini and Emma Stewart blazed to victory with a season best time of 49.89 and the 4×400 team of Boden, Tomko, Toninio and Simms capped the meet with a 2018 WPIAL best time of 3:54.37. Liz Simms added a victory in the 800 meters and Autumn Pettinato gathered a first place finish in the Javelin with a career best throw of 109-0 followed by Heidi Gross at 105-4. Samantha Penrod had two first place finished in the Pole Vault with a personal best vault of 10-2. Chesna Tomko also had two first place finishes in the 300 Hurdles. Maggie Welty had another big day with two first place finishes in the 1600 and 3200 while Gabby Boden had first place finish in the 100 and 200. )
–The Butler boys Track & Field team were the runner-up to North Allegheny in the Triple-A championship.

–Plum-5 Seneca Valley-2.
–Pine-Richland-10 Knoch-4.
–Moniteau-15 AC Valley-0. (3-innings). Jared Fitzingo threw a three-inning no-hitter for the Warriors.
–Karns City-9 Keystone-0. Nolan Riley allowed just one-hit in 6-2/3rds innings before being lifted due to pitch count.
–Summit Academy-14 Aliquippa-0 in five innings. Chris Biknuis threw a no-hitter for Summit Academy. He walked two and struck out 11.
–Mars-6 Hampton-0.
–St. Mary’s junior pitcher Nate Beimel completed a suspended game he started April 11th against Brookville, and completed his second no-hitter in a week. Beimel pitched three no-hit innings Monday to complete a 10-0 victory. This came after he threw a five-inning no-hitter against Johnsonburg Friday.
Softball:
