Butler Downtown’s Farm Market opens this weekend but it’s a lot more than just produce.
“We’re trying to make it more diverse; a diverse lineup of farmers and vendors,” Jared Sullivan said. “We want to introduce different promotions and events and demonstrations down there. There are people that are designing different special events like challenges and kids activities and we’re looking for sponsors for the weekly music.”
Sullivan is the First Vice President of Butler Downtown.
The public is invited to the corner of Cunningham and Chestnut streets for the first Farm Market of the year this Saturday, May 27. Everything is undercover so this event will continue every Saturday rain or shine through October 28.
Local farmers, crafts people, artists or business owners are welcome to consider several options when it comes to the commitment to set up a table.
“We have different registrations that they can do,” he said. “If you want to come check it out for one week, we have weekly registrations, we have half year registrations, and yearly registrations.”
Those interested in more information about registering a table should call 724-282-1362.
The Butler Farm Market is managed through a committee made up of Butler Downtown leadership and local farmers.
