The Butler Area School District is providing more details to what they’re calling a “soft-start” to begin the school year.
According to an email from Superintendent Dr. Brian White, students in 6th through 12th grade will have a staggered approach to start the year.
At the Intermediate High School, 6th and 7th graders will have their first day of school on Wednesday, September 7th. However, 8th graders will report for only a half-day on September 6th.
Meanwhile at the Senior High, 11th and 12th graders will have half days on September 6th. 9th and 10th graders will then head to school on September 7th for a full-day.
Dr. White says this essentially serves as an orientation day for students so they can get acclimated to the new building.
All elementary students will begin classes on September 6th.
