Photographs depicting the contributions of Butler County residents and business owners in the 1940s to help win World War II will be on display beginning Friday.
The exhibit- called “WW2-Butler County Recycles”- will be on featured inside the Cranberry Township Municipal Center. It will remain open through Oct. 5.
The collection of 100 photographs curated by the Associated Artists of Butler County primarily show the scrap metal collection drives led by Armco Steel. The steel was needed to manufacture wartime items including infantry helmets, tanks and battleships.
The exhibit was previously on display at the Associated Artists of Butler County gallery in Butler. Following its appearance in Cranberry, it will travel to the American Legion Post 117 on South Main Street in Butler.
