The city of Butler has taken the first step towards an agreement for Butler County to take over the Butler Transit Authority.
City Council approved a motion Thursday night to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with the county and Butler Township.
The purpose of the memorandum is to set the terms and conditions of the city’s withdrawal in a process expected to take several months.
