Butler County continues to maintain the lowest unemployment rate in the region.
According to numbers released Tuesday from the state Department of Labor & Industry, Butler’s seasonally adjusted rate was 4.3 percent in January. The highest in the seven-county region was Fayette at 6.7 percent.
The statewide rate was 4.6 percent, which fell one-tenth of a percent in the first month of the year. Nationwide, the jobless rate registered at 4.9 percent in both January and February.
