Butler County can now use up to $1 million in its operating reserve if they run into problems because of the ongoing state budget impasse.
The Butler County commissioners unanimously voted Wednesday to authorize the move, which is necessary before any potential withdrawals are made.
County officials believe they will be able to get through the end of the year without dipping into the fund.
The state has been without a budget since July 1.
