A recently released study shows that Butler County has some of the highest valued homes in Western Pennsylvania.
The American Community Survey and Penn State Harrisburg recently released a study that shows median home in Pennsylvania is $240,500 while the median Butler County home is $35,000 higher.
At $275,600 Butler County ranks first among counties in the Pittsburgh Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The study also identified that owner-occupied housing has risen by 4.7 percent leading to increased home values and changes in costs for renters.
The highest median was in Chester County with the median home costing $461,000.
