Two Butler County residents were involved in a fatal pedestrian accident Monday night in northern Allegheny County.
April Powell, 33, of Gibsonia was walking across Route 8 in Richland Township when she was struck by two vehicles and killed.
Powell was first struck by a Jeep driven by 65-year-old Jan Smith of Butler and then struck a second time by a Toyota van driven by 52-year-old Laura Felice of Mars. Both drivers were heading northbound.
Police say both Smith and Felice stopped at the scene and were visibly upset. So far, no charges have been filed.
Authorities say this area of Route 8 is dark and dangerous for pedestrians.
