Many local communities ushered in the holiday season this weekend with several events held throughout the county.
The annual Spirit of Christmas Parade was held in downtown Butler on Saturday evening. Parade-watchers were treated to about 60 different groups, many with floats decked out in lights. This parade is the county’s only nighttime parade of the year.
Santa Claus arrived by fire truck on Sunday during Chicora’s Light Up Night celebration.
A holiday parade was followed by a live nativity and horse and buggy rides on Friday in Saxonburg.
