A High Wind Warning has been issued for Butler County beginning Thursday evening and continuing through Friday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, west winds of 15 to 25 mph will blow, with gusts up to 60 mph possible. The Warning begins at 10 p.m. Thursday and continues through 10 a.m. Friday.
“There is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph, or gusts of 60 mph or stronger, may occur,” according to the advisory.
Behind the winds will be a cold front. After hitting the low 50s on Thursday, temperatures are expected to drop just below freezing Thursday night. According to the NWS, a mix of rain and snow showers are possible between midnight and 1 a.m. After 1 a.m., precipitation should change over to all snow.
Forecasters expect about a half inch of snow to fall overnight. Another half inch could fall throughout the day on Friday.
