Butler County continues to maintain the lowest unemployment rate in the area’s seven-county region.
According to the latest numbers from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, the jobless rate in Butler was 5.3 percent in August. The only other county that had numbers within 5 percent was Allegheny County at 5.5 percent.
Fayette County had the highest unemployment rate in the region at 8.5 percent.
