Residents from Butler County will march with thousands from across the country at this year’s March for Life.
The annual rally is held each year to mark the anniversary of the 1973 Supreme Court decision legalizing abortion. According to the Butler County Chapter of Pennsylvanians For Human Life, about 300 local residents made the trip to Washington, D.C.
Organizers say Vice President Mike Pence will address the rally Friday. The group said no president or vice president has ever spoken previously at the event, which is now in its 44th year.
Trump has signed an executive order banning U.S. aid to foreign groups that provide abortions. And Republicans in Congress are seeking to end federal funding for Planned Parenthood and to ban most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.
