Butler County continues to maintain the lowest unemployment rate in the seven-county region.
According to the latest numbers released by the Department of Labor and Industry, the county’s jobless rate was 5.1 percent in July.
On average, the region’s seasonally-adjusted rate rose to 5.7 percent, which is up two-tenths of a percentage point from the previous month.
The government defines unemployed people as those without jobs who are available to work and who make specific efforts to find employment.
