A Butler County landlord has reached a settlement with the attorney general’s office after a lawsuit about alleged unlawful billing.
Attorney General Michelle Henry announced a $50,000 settlement with A.R. Building Company. Last November, the AG office filed a suit against A.R. Building alleging the company was inflating repair costs, using leases with unfair and unenforceable terms. They also allegedly did unfair debt collection practices.
A.R. Building owns 20 apartment complexes in the state. Anyone who was a tenant of A.R. Building in the last four years and thinks they might be eligible for damages should reach out to the attorney general’s office website in the next 60 days.
