The Butler Area School District is closing today after threats were made against the school district.
Superintendent Dr. Brian White said in an email that the district received multiple threats overnight. He said some specifically are directed at the Senior High, while others just refer to “Butler.”
The closure comes after the Senior High and Intermediate were placed on lockdown yesterday. According to the district, those threats from yesterday were deemed not credible.
White says he is working with authorities to determine the best way to legally hold those accountable.
The district will continue to provide updates throughout the day, including the impact on evening activities.
