The Butler City Police Department will have a dedicated information technologies support provider beginning next month.
Butler City Council approved entering into an agreement with Green Seven Technologies for 24-hour police department IT support.
During a presentation earlier this month, Green Seven representatives told council about touring the police department set-up and finding far too many servers.
The City of Butler has never had a regular IT support provider in the police department.
Council anticipates expanding the contract to include services to the city building as well but that is not expected to happen until next year due to budget concerns.
