Butler City Council will hold a gathering next month in order to get feedback from residents about plans for the money from the anticipated sale of Butler Area Sewer Authority assets.
The public session is planned for Wednesday, July 26th at 6:30 p.m. at the Butler City Farmer’s Market.
Residents will be able to speak to members of Council about city needs and how the money could be spent or invested.
Several banks and money managers have made presentations to Council over the past couple of months and while some discussion on the topic took place at Thursday’s meeting, Council is seeking financial experts that can help them make an informed decision.
The BASA sale continues to be considered by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission and is not expected to be finalized anytime soon so there is no pressing deadline for the City to decide how the money will be managed or who will be involved with assisting in that process.
