Butler City Council will welcome a student municipal representative to their meetings beginning this fall.
Council held a discussion about participating in the program during a meeting on Tuesday after hearing about the Butler Township commissioners participating in the program.
At least two Butler Area School District students living in the city expressed interest. One will be chosen to have the chance to learn about city government first-hand.
The student will be chosen at a later date and be assigned projects but will not be a voting member of council.
