There are two open seats on Butler City Council for 2020.
Current Councilman Mike Walter is running for re-election. He is on the Republican primary ballot and being challenged by Travis Uhl.
Long-time city resident and organizer Bob Dandoy was the only candidate running on the Democratic ticket.
UPDATE:
At 10:20 p.m., with 88 of 89 precincts reporting, Walter maintains his lead over Uhl with 51.74 percent of the vote.

As of 9:30 p.m. with 48 of 89 precincts reporting, Walter has a slim lead with 249 votes to Uhl’s 220.
