Butler City Council has voted to adopt a budget for next year that doesn’t raise taxes, but increase monthly parking permit rates by $5.
Council unanimously voted to adopt the $9.1 million budget during a meeting Thursday.
The budget is slightly higher than last year, but maintains the current real estate tax rate of 43.25 mills. A mill equates to $1 in taxes for every $1,000 of assessed property value.
Even though monthly parking permit rates will increase next year, street parking with remain the same.
