So many people showed up to the Butler City Council special meeting that it needed to be moved to a different location.
Around 75 people attended the meeting Wednesday night so council took the unusual action of moving the meeting from council chambers across the street to the public safety building. Council chambers are only able to hold about half that number of people.
A total of 12 people stood to address council about the situation surrounding the demotion and eventual retirement of former fire Chief Nick Ban.
Although Ban did not attend the meeting, the majority of people who spoke were against the mayor’s initial decision.
