The Butler School Board approved the sale of a former elementary school to a local business owner.
The board voted Wednesday to sell Oakland Township Elementary School on Chicora Road to Robert Oesterling for $200,000. Oesterling plans to use the facility as a warehouse and distribution center for his electronic cigarette and vaping business.
Kingdom Vapor Wholesale is based in Clarion.
A hearing is now scheduled for later this month before a Butler County judge before the sale is finalized. Other potential buyers are able to come to the hearing and make a higher offer, making it similar to an auction.
The school was closed in 2015, along with three others, as part of a district-wide consolidation.
