The Butler Area School District will be changing bus companies next year.
The school board approved a new contract with A.J. Myers & Sons that will go in effect for the 2025-26 school year.
“They’re going to make a couple of big investments, the first of which is a whole new fleet of buses for our school district. That’s a very big capital investment right out of the gate,” Superintendent Dr. Brian White said. “From a human capital perspective, they’re going to be paying a higher rate to drivers and support staff.”
White says A.J. Myers is also preparing to hire current bus drivers and will try to maintain their routes.
The contract with Valley Lines, who is currently the district’s transportation provider, expired at the end of the school year.
