The Butler high school bowlers swept Seneca Valley during their Senior Night Wednesday at Family Bowlaway. Senior Greg Wilbert led the Golden Tornado boys with a career-high 767 series. Greg rolled games of 262-226-279. Senior Micah Potts added a 624 series (226-211-187). The win moved Butler into second place in their WPIBL Northwest Section behind an undefeated New Castle team.
The Butler girls were led by senior Makenzie Zimmerman who rolled a 617 series with a high game of 215. Kaylee Kniess added a 535 series. The Butler girls clinched the section title with the victory and locked up a playoff spot.
The Freeport bowlers swept Burrell. Colin Cummings led the Yellow Jacket boys with a 680 series in their 5-2 victory. The Freeport girls won 7-0, led by Kyle McConahy, who rolled a 656 series. Hannah Windows added a 637. The Yellow Jacket girls have also clinched a WPIBL playoff berth.
