The American Legion Post 117 in Butler has pledged $10,000 to the local Veterans In Need Fund.
The fund was recently created by Butler County Veterans Services as a way to raise and provide money that would go directly to Butler County veterans.
Commander Jim Dittmer from the Butler American Legion Post 117 presented a check to the Butler County commissioners and Director of Butler County Veterans Services John Cyprian on Wednesday.
“This is a godsend for the county,” Dittmer said Wednesday during the Butler County commissioners meeting. “The money stays right here. It will help our veterans when they need it. And some need it bad. This is a fantastic program.”
One hundred percent of the proceeds will help local veterans in need of immediate assistance.
