Emergency responders around the Butler County area were busy with several small brush and grass fires on Monday- including one in Summit Township that threatened a residence.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center shortly after 4 p.m. for a brush fire that moved onto a porch in the 3500 block of Beck Road.
Firefighters from Herman, East Butler and Lick Hill were dispatched to the scene and quickly had the fire under control. The extent of damage to the house is not known but thought to be minimal.
Additional calls for brush and grass fires were received in Adams and Venango townships, as well as Prospect and Cherry Valley boroughs.
