A state program to encourage business investment has received new funding.
The Business in Our Sites program has been designated $75 million as part of the recently passed state budget.
This program is administered by the Department of Community and Economic Development with the goal of providing money to allow for business expansions and relocations in the state.
The Business in Our Sites program was originally funded in 2004 with $100 million in grants and $200 million in loans available. Those funds have since been exhausted. The program has created over 22,000 jobs and been responsible for over $2 billion in private investment in the state.
