The Buffalo Township Police Department in southern Butler County is mourning the loss of two of its officers within the past week.
A day after the burial of longtime officer-in-charge Lt. Alan Behanna, who died suddenly after collapsing outside his home, the department has lost Patrolman Jason Sappe.
Sappe was a 15-year member of the force. He died Tuesday at a Pittsburgh Hospital due to complications from pneumonia. He was 45.
