The world famous Budweiser Clydesdales will be making a stop in Butler County Monday.
“There’s going to be 10 of them, plus one of the Dalmatians arriving,” Robb King, Associate Executive Director for Communication and Public Affairs at Slippery Rock University, told our newsroom.
King says the animals are making their way down south for a tour and stopping at the Storm Harbor Equestrian Center on the SRU campus to stay the night.
Although there will not be any events with the horses open to the public today, staff at the center hopes that this stop will lead to future stops where the public is invited.
“The Clydesdales originally worked with George Junior Republic in Grove City and they would stop there once or twice a year,” King said. “But since the center has closed, they are needing some place to stay when they’re in the area or making their way through.”
The Storm Harbor Equestrian provides weekly Equine Assisted Activities for people of all ages with all types of disabilities. The facility is the only center in western Pennsylvania that is accredited through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship.
