The Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Milwaukee Brewers 7-3 last night after a six-run first inning. Andrew McCutchen went 3-for-3 last night, with a first-inning double that drove in two runs, and he later hit a solo home run, his 14th of the season. Jose Osuna also hit a three-run home run. The Bucs have won two of the first four games of this series, improving to 33-38 overall, and now four games behind the first-place Brewers.
The two teams play again tonight at 7:40pm. Pre-game on WISR 680am is 7:15pm.
The Champion City Kings defeated the Butler BlueSox 9-8 last night. The BlueSox have fallen to the Kings in all five games they have met. The Sox never led in the game, but tied it twice, including the ninth inning, only to have Champion City take answer back for the lead each time. The game featured 10 extra-base hits, includign five home runs. The two teams meet again tonight in Springfield, Ohio. The Sox return home Thursday.
