A Venango County bridge will be renamed to honor a local firefighter who was killed in the line of duty.
The State Route 4010 bridge over Sugar Creek in Sugarcreek Borough- near Franklin- will be renamed the “Lieutenant Andrew J. White Memorial Bridge” during a ceremony on Saturday.
White was killed in January 2001 after he became trapped during a mobile home fire. He was only 27 years old.
Local State Senator Scott Hutchinson will participate in Saturday’s ceremony. Hutchinson wrote the bill asking for the bridge to be renamed.
