The Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-2 Sunday and took three of four games in their series. With the win, the Brewers have taken over first place in the National League Central Division. Pirates starter Jordan Lyles allowed four earned runs on eight hits over six innings, and took the loss. He walked one and struck out five, as his record fell to 5-3. Bryan Reynolds had two of the Pirates eight hits, including a double. Josh Bell also had a double, his 21st of the season.
Zach Davies allowed two runs over eight innings for Milwaukee. He improved to 6-0.
The Pirates fell to 28-30 overall, and are now five behind the Brewers.
The Bucs are off today, and host Atlanta beginning Tuesday. They travel to face the Brewers this weekend.
The Major League Baseball Draft begins tonight at 6pm and continues through Wednesday. The Pirates have the 18th selection overall. The Draft continues for 40 rounds.
