Police are searching for a man who robbed the NexTier Bank in downtown Butler Thursday morning.
The robbery happened about 9:30 a.m. at the East Diamond Street branch.
The suspect is described as a black male possibly in his 30s. No word if he had a weapon or if he got away with any money.
As a result, Butler City schools including Emily Brittain Elementary, Butler Middle School and the Center Avenue Community School have been placed on lockdown as a precaution. All activities within the schools are continuing but students are not permitted to leave.
The NexTier branch is also currently closed.
