The two teenagers who escaped from a Butler County juvenile detention center Thursday afternoon have been located.
Summit Academy sent an alert to residents at 1 p.m. Thursday warning that two students had left the grounds. According to the Butler County 911 Center, that alert was cancelled around 2:30 p.m.
Nearby residents were asked to lock their cars and doors, and not to interact with the students. Further details about the situation were not immediately available from police or the school.
Summit Academy is a private, residential program for boys and young men ages 14 to 19 who have committed juvenile and adult criminal offenses.
