Butler City Police have still not given many details about the connected shooting and stabbing that happened on Friday.
Adam Selfridge, 37, of Butler, was shot and killed about 1:30 a.m. near the corner of South Wagner Avenue at West Cunningham Street in the city’s West End.
Selfridge died from a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead on scene.
While investigating the shooting, police were called to Ziegler Avenue where they found 35-year-old Raymond Covelli (with no known address) with a stab wound in the torso.
He was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital to recover and police reportedly did not speak to him before he was taken to the hospital.
Sources say investigators believe Selfridge stabbed Covelli before he was shot. A pocket knife was reportedly recovered near Selfridge’s body.
