No one was injured as a result of a small fire in Brady Township Monday morning.
Chief Nathan Wulff of the Unionville Volunteer Fire Company told our newsroom “It was initially reported that there was smoke coming from the wall and a heating duct. When we got there we did discover that there was a small fire in the wall.”
Unionville was among those responding to a residence in the 2000 block of William Flynn Highway around 11:30 a.m. Crews from West Sunbury, Prospect, and Slippery Rock also responded.
Firefighters had the situation under control in less than an hour with a little help from the homeowners.
“The residents had extinguished it themselves. We just checked to make sure that there was no extension using thermal imaging cameras. We determined that it didn’t spread anywhere,” Wulff explained.
Wulff estimated damage costs to be under $1,000.
