The ball bounced the right way for the Boston Red Sox to take the Tampa Bay Rays to the brink of elimination of their A.L. Divisional Series following a 6-4 victory in 13-innings last night. It appeared the Rays would take a lead in the top of the 13th when a ball deflected off Red Sox outfielder Hunter Renfroe and into the Boston bullpen. Umpires determined it was ground-rule double, keeping one of Tampa Bay’s runner at third base. The Red Sox then hit a two-run “walk-off” home run to take a 2-1 series lead into tonight’s game in Boston. First pitch is 7:07pm.
The Chicago White Sox held off a series sweep by Houston with a 12-6 win last night. Game Four is this afternoon at 3:37pm in Chicago. Both American League games will be televised on FS1.
In the National League on TBS today – The Atlanta Braves host the Milwaukee Brewers in Game Three of their series at 1:07pm. The Los Angeles Dodgers host the San Francisco Giants at 9:37pm. Both series are tied 1-1.
