A suspicious package that resulted in the evacuation an Adams Township office building on Wednesday was found to be a rent check from a disgruntled tenant.
It was just before noon when the Allegheny County Bomb Squad was called to the building at One Adams Place on Seven Fields Boulevard. The building houses several businesses and is owned by A.R. Building Co.
Officials say the package was a box within a box, and contained a small item wrapped in red duct tape with a note on top. The handwritten note indicated this was a final payment and contained an expletive.
The item turned out to be a check from a disgruntled renter who had disagreed with his final payment.
