The Butler YMCA was evacuated Tuesday night because of a boiler overheating.
An excess of steam came from one of the boilers in the basement. The boiler was immediately shut down but the steam caused the fire alarm to go off.
About 25 people were evacuated from the North Washington Street facility around 9 p.m. until Butler City firefighters could clear the building about 15 minutes later.
The YMCA opened on time Wednesday morning with no disruption of service due to a functioning second boiler that was able to heat the facility as necessary.
