Customers of the Foxburg Water and Sewer Authority will remain under a boil water advisory through the long holiday weekend.
The advisory went into effect Thursday afternoon due to pump equipment failure and multiple water line leaks. The advisory is set to expire Monday night.
Crews continue to work on repairs to a large leak located Thursday night as well as other smaller leaks. The system will be back online and filling tanks sometime Friday evening. The water issues started Wednesday night after a severe thunderstorm moved through the area.
Classes at the Allegheny-Clarion Valley School District had to cancel classes for the second day in a row Friday. The school dismissed at 9 a.m. Thursday because the district had little-to-no water.
