The Butler BlueSox defeated the Kokomo Jackrabbits in front of their largest crowd ever Saturday night, the final 8-1.
Slippery Rock University pitcher Jon Anderson started for the Sox, and pitched a complete game. He allowed only three hits and a run in the game. At one point, Anderson retired 22 straight batters in addition to his nine strikeouts.
Offensively for the BlueSox, Michael Patrick scored three runs, Matt Hansen collected 2 RBIs, and Danny Hrbek collected two hits.
Saturday night’s attendance was 1,562, which was not only a sellout, but the team’s largest crowd of all time. With the final two home games coming up this week, the Sox have a chance to beat their season attendance from the 2014 season.
The BlueSox will be back in action tonight as they travel to Champion City. Tonight’s first pitch will be at 6:05pm.
