The Butler BlueSox won their fourth game in a row last night with a 4-3 victory over the Chillicothe Paints. The victory moved the Sox to within a 1/2-game of first-place Champion City, who lost to West Virginia 10-5. Rey Gonzalez had a walk-off RBI single to win last night’s game and complete a four-game series sweep of the Paints. Butler native and current Slippery Rock University reliever Wyatt Daugherty earned the victory with two scoreless innings of relief. He allowed just one hit and struck out four. The game was the 500th in BlueSox history.
The Sox are now 22-17 overall heading into a big three-game series at Champion City tonight.
