The West Virginia Miners defeated the Butler BlueSox 13-7 last night in the Prospect League. The Sox opened the game by scoring three runs in the first, but the Miners responded with 11 runs over the first three innings. The two teams play again tonight in West Virginia.
The Altoona Curve defeated the Binghampton Rumble Ponies 7-2 Wednesday, thanks to a first-inning grand slam by outfielder Bryan Reynolds. It was one of three home runs for the Curve. Reynolds was part of the Andrew McCutchen trade with San Francisco. Pirates top pitching prospect Mitch Keller allowed two runs over six innings. He improved to 7-2 this season.
