Another tough night for the Butler BlueSox. After being delayed over an hour due to rain, the BlueSox were swept by Springfield following a 9-8 loss in 10-innings last night. After taking a 4-1 lead in the fourth inning, the Sox fell behind when the Sliders scored five runs in the fifth. The Sox would score four in the seventh, only to have Springfield tie the game in the bottom of the inning. Reliever Wyatt Daugherty pitched three scoreless innings, striking out five, before allowing the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning.
Butler will travel to Lafayette, Indiana tonight. They will complete their longest stretch of road games this season on Saturday, and travel back to Butler for home games Sunday through Wednesday.
