The Butler BlueSox were swept by the West Virginia Miners following a 7-4 decision Thursday. Sox starting pitcher and Knoch graduate Alex Stobert took the loss. He allowed four runs, three earned on four hits over 5-2/3rds innings. The Sox dropped to 3-9. They host Kokomo for two games beginning tonight at 7:05p. Saturday’s game also begins at 7:05pm and will be the second “Fireworks Night’ of the season. The Sox begin a week-long road trip after that.
The Altoona Curve completed a sweep of the Binghampton Rumble Ponies following a 9-2 victory Thursday. Tyler Hearn struck out 10 batters in six innings to earn the victory. Will Craig homered for the third straight game.
