The Butler BlueSox lost 11-5 to Chillicothe last night. The Sox are off to a 2-4 start. They visit West Virginia tonight.
The Altoona Curve lost to the Reading Fighting Phils 4-2, after Reading hit a ninth-inning two-run home run at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona. The Curve fell to 26-27 overall.
Florida State defeated Washington 8-3 Tuesday to win their first national championship in softball. The Seminoles won their best-of-three championship series 2-0. Pitcher Meghan King broke the World Series record for lowest ERA. She earned four wins and a save in Oklahoma City while allowing just one earned run over 34 innings. It was the first NCAA softball championship for any team from the ACC.
