The Butler BlueSox fell to the Chillicothe Paints 4-2 last night in the Prospect League. Relief pitcher Alex Stobert entered the game with the Sox leading, but allowed three runs and took the loss. His record fell to 0-5. The Sox and Paints play again tonight in Ohio, before the Sox return home for four games. Butler will host Champion City Saturday night (7:05pm – Fireworks night) and Sunday afternoon (4:05pm.) The Sox are off Monday.
The Altoona Curve lost to Harrisburg 3-2 in 10-innings last night. The Curve travel to Akron tonight to open a five-game series with the first-place Rubber Ducks, the Double-A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians.
Oregon State won the College Baseball World Series with a 5-0 victory over Arkansas last night in Omaha. Freshman pitcher Kevin Abel tossed a two-hit, complete game for the championship victory.
