The Butler BlueSox dropped their second in a row to the West Virginia Miners Saturday night by a final of 3-2.
A record setting crowd of over 1,400 fans was on hand at Kelly Automotive Park to watch the game, which was followed by another fireworks show.
For the Sox, they received a great effort from starting pitcher Colin Coward. He scattered ten strikeouts over seven and one-third innings pitched, and only allowed three Miners’ hits and one earned run.
With the loss, the BlueSox now own a 12-9 record for the second half of the season, and are three and a half games out of first place.
The BlueSox will be back in action this afternoon, when they travel to New York to face the Jamestown Jammers. That first pitch will be at 3:05pm.
