The Butler BlueSox fell to the visiting Jamestown Jammers last night by a final of 3-1.
A crowd of just over 1,400 fans packed into Kelly Automotive Park to watch the game, which was followed by the City of Butler’s Fourth of July fireworks display. Last night’s attendance was the fourth largest in the team’s history.
In other BlueSox news, four BlueSox players were selected to play in this Wednesday’s Prospect League All-Star Game. First baseman David Marcus was voted to the game as a starter. Other BlueSox players joining Marcus are shortstop Matt Hansen, outfielder Alex Miklos, and pitcher Zach Spangler. The game, along with other All-Star activities, will take place in Richmond Indiana.
The BlueSox will be back in action at Kelly Automotive Park tonight at 6:35pm, as they wrap up their two game series against the Jammers, their final game before the All-Star Break.
